About

Hi, I’m Mary!

I wear many hats and fill lots of different roles. I am a wife, mom, dog-mom, teacher, writer, and homeschooling parent to name a few. With most of my growing-up years spent in Zambia, Africa, I also have a love for travel and global experiences. I am married to my awesome husband Jake and the proud mother of two energetic boys which also allows me to be a home cook and cleaner. It has also taught me a lot about how to make a budget work. Teaching has been a part of my life since I was 11 and now I get to do it full-time as a home-school mom. I have always had a love for writing and expression through the arts (though I tend to appreciate more than excel at most art forms). My international upbringing often gives me the traveling itch and I jump at any opportunity to go see a new place in the world. If it involves being outdoors, count me in (unless its fishing)! And everyone who knows me, knows that I am never very far from a cup of coffee. Coffee nourishes my soul.

All these different experiences have led me into many situations where I had to learn as I went. It has also led me into many relationships where I got to learn from the experiences of professionals. And the more I am learning, the more I am realizing how much I need “unlearn” so that I can adapt and thrive in this journey called “life.” With any luck, maybe something I learned will help you on your way!
